Re: Romantic relationships
Perhaps we all need to date each other? As in fellow dyspraxics? Who better to understand all our fun little quirks? Giant game of blind date anyone? lol. I have had big issues in the past, but i'm still young, so I try and look on the upside. I recently met someone new and his mum has dyspraxia ...

Re: i don't reallly know where to post this
You have my sympathy!! I've got all that fun to come, I'm still a student atm, and so have only ever had temp type jobs that a monkey could do! It does seem ridiculos how people are assessed to get a job these days, you can be he perfect canditate- but if you can't jump through their hoops to show ...

Re: Living away from home tips and support
Why not 'practise' ahead of time? ASk your parents nt to do anything for you, so that you learn to cope with cooking, laundry etc on your own. However, being at home you have the safety net that you can ask for help to learn if you need it! Also, perhaps ask friends and family to point out things ...

Re: Essay (Result!)
And if all else fails, use lots of quotes!!! I do this alot, it seems to work! I pretty much just link together scholarly quotes on the subject to form an argument/answer the question. It's working well for me so far... x

Re: quick question
Heck no! I see dyspraxia as inspirational. I mean, we all find things difficult, more so than others, yet you only have to take a quick look around these forums to see that people have still acheived amazing things, despite this! And as Evasura says, it teaches us to try harder, and be persistent. I ...

Re: Exam disasters
Hi, Firstly, I really hope that you manage to get this sorted out for your son! I have a dyspexic fried who is allowed someone in the room to read the questions aloud to her. Perhaps this might help? Officially all they can do is read the question, but by putting emphasis on certain key words it can ...

Re: If your dyspraxia whats the best way to study?
Hey! The OT diagnsis I actually found kinda fun personally. It was just some basic taks, nothing to get stressed over. I was asked to recreate a pattern, so I have a picture- copy it with the blocks type gig, a spot the problem with the picture bit, some general knowledge. Basically I got asked what ...

Re: revising for exams
I don't find it an issue to remember so much, as Abby said, it's more short term memory that is affected. However, I find it impossible to sit and actually revise! ](*,) I usually bake instead... (or curretly, go on here, and watch QI) So, I find it important to just learn it at the time! So that ...

Re: weak ankles
Thanks for the enlightenment guys! My ankles are 'weak' too. They turn over all the time, but it doesn't hurt :) (unless i scratch them on the floor or something, but well, duh) As a kid i used to fall every time this happened as it threw my babalance off, but took me years to figure this out! We ...

Re: Survey on Dyspraxia and Higher Education
@Avarice, I feel like you need to try and be a little more positive about life! It sounds like you speak from bad personal experience... I'm still doing my degree, but am on track to graduate with a good MA, and have never had trouble finding employment. I know that so far it has only been temp work ...

Re: Tips or suggestions
I have just seen your post Evasura. Thanks so much for your offer of help, it is very kind of you. I am currently doing La historia de la moja alferez, Carolia de Euraso, escrite por ella misma. (which, incidentally, is quite a good read just for fun) I need to reflect upon how it shows us the ...

Thanks Grackle!
I will bear that in mind. I've also taken to cycling a lot as I've noticed roads get cleared/gritted far better than pavements!

Snow and Ice
So, if you live in the UK (or indeed probably many other countries) it cannot have escaped your notice that the outside world is starting to turn white, and somewhat perilous! I'm currently terrified of the outside as I fall on flat dry pavements, frozen snow is most definately NOT my friend! :( So ...
