Re: My dyspraxic boyfriend
I've never thought about dyspraxia affecting kissing either .__. It's just been easy for me. But I may be doing it wrong. Well, we are all different. I have troubles with kissing just like her boyfriend, I actually had to ask how to do it and it takes me time to react when someone kisses me (plus I ...

Re: [survey] Link between Autism, Learning Disorders and Aut
Echolalia is generally related to Autism (but it has also been associated with Schizophrenia and Tourette Syndrome for example), like narrow interests and repetitive behaviours. Many dyspraxic people (in this test) have the same profile as Asperger people, however, echolalia does not seem to be one ...

Re: asperegers and eye contact?
Symptoms may vary from one person to another. People can learn too.
Lack of eye contact seems quite common among Dyspraxic and Asperger people, yet some of them may have no issue with that or make too much eye contact.

Re: Hello

I used to learn Spanish at school but I was not very good at it, sometimes I think I should try again but I also wish to learn more latin. (Dead Languages are great too). And greek. And Russian ...

Are you a visual learner ?
I was just wondering if anyone here was a visual learner or what is your main learning type ? I am apparently a visual learner though I always though I was an auditory learner (but apparently, I am both). I have "perfect" auditory memory according to a test my psychologist once made me take and an ...

People who do not believe you
Among my friends and acquaintances, only some of them believe me. Usually, the ones I have met as an adult or the ones who are well informed. My best friend is both gifted and bipolar, when I first told her that I wanted to seek a diagnosis for dyspraxia, she told me I was ridiculous. "But I am ...

Re: Things that you CAN do despite being dyspraxic
My family is always teasing me because I'm still so poor with shoelaces but can do scoubidous. Unfortunately this is also why they have spent years telling me that I was lazy and stubborn and that they hated that I was so naughty. You know, the traditional "stop acting as if you were stupid I know ...

Re: [survey] Link between Autism, Learning Disorders and Aut
I know that most people show some autistic traits but I think that the link between all neurological conditions is very interesting, especially when it comes to dyspraxia because it is sometimes described just the way people describe Asperger Syndrome. I have not met many people who had a learning ...

Re: You know you're dyspraxic when
You always have cuts on your legs from shaving! I collect those the way most people collect stamps or bottlecaps! You know you are dyspraxic when you thought that you would cut your legs as usual while shaving and end up cutting your finger badly... and of course this finger is located on the hand ...

Re: Dyspraxic issues for women in relationships?
Hi, I have no boyfriend and had none in the past so I cannot relate to everything you have said but I have the same issues as you when you say : Obviously time keeping is a big one, I have zero perception of time and am always late. I am always early, very early. You may think that it's no big deal ...

[survey] Link between Autism, Learning Disorders and Autism.
When I was seeking a diagnosis, I have notices that many Dyspraxia characteristics are similar to other disorders characteristics, most specifically : Autism. From what I have read, Dyspraxia has high rates of comorbidity (mostly Dyslexia and ADHD) but usually do not include Autistic characteristics ...

Re: Things that you CAN do despite being dyspraxic
I could ride a bicycle. No I have not done that in years so I think I will have to learn how to do it again. But I am quite proud of the fact that it's one of the rare things I have learned easily. I was also an early walker though I have a strange gait and a tendency to fall. I can also make ...

Hi,
I cannot answer to the question about what I studied at University because none of them is taken into account by the survey.

Hello
Hello, I am a 20 years old dyspraxic girl who currently lives in England (I am French). I have been diagnosed only a few months ago but many teachers and doctors had suspicions that something "was wrong" with me. I am currently working as a foreign language assistant and taking English courses in ...
