dyspraxia diagnosis

My IQ is around 125, 95%/96% percentile. My working memory is around 68% percentile. My processing speed is around 67% percentile. My perceptual organisation is around 22% percentile. My weak areas are gross coordination, fine-motor coordination, visual motor coordination. I found university educati...

Disability Benefit

Does anyone get disability benefit ? I think people with severe dyspraxia managed to get Disability Living Allowance. I know people , who used to get Disability Living Allowance who had severe dyspraxia, but had their benefit taken away, as a result of Government cuts. I am independent, I am disable...

Re: What things can make dyspraxia symtpoms worse?

A combination of stress, anxiety, depression, tiredness, other mental health problems, physical health problems.

This is my opinion.

Re: Will Britain be able to make a sucess of Brexit?

Before trade deals, they have to agree a Northern Ireland border (Leo Vadarkar wants no border between the Republic and Northern Ireland, Theresa May wants Technology to be used), a divorce payout and a EU Citizens rights, there is no real progress, the hardest part will be the Northern Ireland borde...

Re: Will Britain be able to make a sucess of Brexit?

I think it is a question, how much worse the UK will be. I think it is a big mess. I think the deal the Government will get with Brussels will be very bad or there may be no deal, but who knows ? It will not be concluded by March 2019 (I do not think ) !! Theresa May not survive beyond Christmas 201...

Re: Did dyspraxia assessment but confused and not convinced by the test or results

I think I have moderate dyspraxia. When I did an assessment with a university, part of a student research project , the student said mild/moderate dyspraxia ( I was having a good day). When I had my diagnosis, I did it with a trainee assessor on the cheap, I did the tasks in a shorter period of time...

Life Expectancy For Dyspraxics

I think the Life Expectancy for Dyspraxics is below average, given the problems dyspraxics have including mental health problems. There is no study, but the life expectancy of people who are high functioning autism or very high functioning on the Autistic Spectrum have lower life expectancy, and the...

Re: borderline asperger syndrome / aspergers traits

I did the Autism Spectrum Quotient Test you did the one devised by Simon Baron-Cohen and colleagues at Cambridge.

I think ND people, like routines, are more likely to have a higher Autistic Spectrum Quotient Score.

Re: Lack of friends

When I am stressed, anxious I say the wrong thing. I do not like to socialise, because I have not well in life. I have a degree, postgrad, Professional qualification, but no career. I want to get married, but I do not have a stable job. A future partner, will ask what career I am doing, how much I e...

borderline asperger syndrome / aspergers traits

Does have a diagnosis of "aspergers traits" / borderline asperger syndrome ? I suffer from dyspraxia, I do not suffer from asperger syndrome.; I had a 10 minute chat with a psychitarist, in 2004. He said "aspergers traits not a problem". At the time the technical term was Autisti...

Re: familiar with the environment

I did not get the job. I was told that I was a very good candidate, someone else was slightly longer. I did well in the SQL / Excel test. I was told I was accurate. They were looking for accuracy on the SQL / Excel test.m Better luck, next time !!!

familiar with the environment

I had an Excel/SQL test. I was given 20 minutes. I tried to ask for extra time, but I was not given. I took longer to be familiar with my environment. Is it a dyspraxic trait ?

Re: assessment from a psychologist

Welcome to the Forum !!! My verbal IQ is slightly higher, my non-verbal-IQ is slightly lower. I was told I was a "clumsy boy " as a child, my mother knows I am clumsy. My visual-motor and fine motor, and my perceptual organisation score were all below average. I have aspergers traits/borde...

assessment from a psychologist

See, Most Psychologists will assess for cognitive profile with a WAIS-IV Test. If the verbal IQ is significantly higher than the non-verbal IQ, Dyspraxia may be ‘indicated’. However the WAIS-IV was not designed as a diagnostic tool for dyspraxia/DCD so the psychologist may conduct additional tests a...
