Re: shaking

I had an interesting experience about a week ago. Hard to explain in words, but I had a uncontrollable urge to just shake, like excess energy was stored in my limbs. I stood in front of my mirror and just shook and after about 5 minutes I felt better.

I make no claim towards normalcy.

Re: we have a make up thread - so what about shaving?

I'm not sponsored by Gillette, I promise. However I've just upgraded my razor to the new Gillette Fusion thing (the one with the battery that vibrates) now the thought of a vibrating razor blade near my face didn't inspire me with confidence - however my former misgivings have all disappeared, I can...

Re: Developmental Questionnaire.

Is it worth printing this off and taking it with me to my doctor? Some context then I'll answer. This questionnaire was administered to me when I submitted my claim to the disability unit at Sheffield Hallam University for support as part of the post-16 diagnosis I was asked to undergo to specify m...

Going to the gym.

Decided I needed to improve upon perfection so headed to the gym. Last week, had the odd experience of not being able to get my posture right. I realised how hard it was for me to sit on one machine simultaneously and concentrate on a) having my legs extended and feet apart b) reach forward and grab...

Knife and fork. Chop it up. Scoop.

For an added twist; I eat left-handed even though I'm right-handed normally.

Good luck.

If it helps any I was originally diagnosed by a neurologist, but my second (adult) diagnosis was by an occupational therapist.

Re: keeping balance

How about loosing your balance just standing still? ;)

I do it all the time: I'll sort of stagger sideways while I regain my balance, and mutter something like "oh! lost my balance..."

Re: I think I have asked this question before but...

I can give you my own personal definition of dyspraxia, iny my estimation it captures the essential problem and both spheres of difficulty but please bear in mind this has no particular peer-reviewed paper or science backing it up, nevertheless, with those caveats in place: Dyspraxia is a neurologic...

Computers.

I should know better. I don't believe in dualism. I know it's not a malicious entity out to make my life more difficult.

I know this.

but I'll still curse their microchips unto the thirteenth generation for anthropomorphically deleting my files on purpose.

I'm conflicted. \:D/

Re: Triggers

Learning a new motor skill. Oooh that's hard. I was accompannying a primary school class on a field trip to a chruch for Easter ( #-o ) and my table were tasked with tying wicker crosses, which meant overlapping this material tying round itself and forming a knot - and I just COULDN'T do it. I don;t...
