Re: Has anyone else stuggled with debt?

Always worry about this now have my own flat. My support workers say I should pay all my bills by direct debit. My parents say paying by direct debit could mean I have problems if I overspend and can't afford to pay my direct debits. It's so hard to know what to do for the best. basically my view i...

Re: Balance Issues

I would be kind of careful with this one, as a doctor saying not to drive can be classed as going against medical instructions. there are some conditions that if you have a bump after even a doctor telling you not to drive can invalidate your insurance if they check up any medical conditions with th...

Re: Hi, I’m new

Welcome to the forum Nieko, I was 10 when I was diagnosed, and 30 when I found out about the condition, maybe I was one of the lucky ones in a way as was sent for testing due to parents persistence. but my GP then went on that it was all in their head rather than they did find something wrong. I sup...

Re: Ghostly goings on!?

I could give loads of stories from back in the 80's when my grandparents owned a pub. like a common thing for them to do was they had an intercom that they always listened to music on. the one day they heard what sounded like a tray of glasses smashing upstairs through the intercom. they ran upstair...

Re: Just diagnosed with Dyspraxia after working in job for a few months?

Welcome to the forum, this really depends on the individual at the end of the day, unless on trial. the employer can't just fire you on the spot, but they can make the working enviroment more awkward for the person. this question has been asked lots on the forum if you want to look up others replies...

yeah I don't think there is one thread that I have locked, unless on my route to deleting a spam message. so basically take your pick from 28/3/2017 to something like 1/2/2006, as long as something relevent to the topic we are very relaxed bunch of people :-) pretty sure all the topics are still ope...

Re: Is my boyfriend treating me badly because of his dyspraxia?

Hi Melissa, I agree with Tom, this is a poisoned challice, from personal experience, then maybe the times you are talking about could be attributed to something like ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), which can be a cousin to Dyslexia, and Dsypraxia, as you say you wanted a cuddle while he was orderi...

Re: Anyone else bothered by scratchy labels in clothing?

one thing you can do Tim is try cutting the labels off the best you can, either that or pick at the stitching, and then get someone with a sowing machine to re-seam the side that the label was on. but make sure the underwear is good enough for you first.

Re: About to get fired, need some advice.

but what I would like to say is try also to think outside the box, so think of ways they could profit from you being there, so maybe I don't know maybe you can work efficiently by making the beds, making tea, and coffees, doing paper work. answering the phone, as doing other work might also make the...

Re: Eating Spaghetti

I tend to use a knife, and fork for spaghetti, still a messy task, but totally useless trying to use a fork and spoon. twirls just keep falling off my fork whether stabbed, or scooped. shells tend to have the same problem with, oh well there are times of having a dog comes in handy for the escape pe...

Re: Am i entitled to a Bus pass?

I know my local council do the assessment for criteria based on what DLA/PIP you are claiming, eg. high rate mobility entitles you to a blue badge or bus pass, low rate then they won't give you the form to complete, or even take to your doctor to complete. if you are unsure, or you think you should ...

Re: Cats

cats are very independent, and some can love the attention all the time, and some not so much otherwise they turn nasty. all you can ever do is show them short sections of being friendly. and let them be, unless they show that they want more. like my cat will turn and bite if I give her too much att...

Re: About to get fired, need some advice.

Hi Keepgoingup2, does your boss know you have dyspraxia? if yes/no, as far as I am aware it doesn't matter. I would seek out Citizens Advice on Disability Discrimination Act. as if your boss decides enough is enough. my problem is definitely speed, as my left hand doesn't speak to my right hand, and...

yes they can type, even without good hand-eye co-ordination. I am probably four times the speed on the computer than I would be if writing this by hand. still not fast, but an awful lot better than if I was writing it. the trouble that I have found with the NHS is they can't be bothered unless somet...

Re: Does anyone here know sign language?

a friend and I learned sign language, well spelling the alphabet while I was in College during 93 - 95, and his ex-wife was teaching me a little bit of sign language as she is Deaf. so Red is like the letter r with your finger rubbed against your cheek. but haven't done an awful lot with sign langua...
