Re: Dyspraxia and rollerblading

That is great to hear you are rollerblading! Sometimes we all have to find something that we will struggle with and potentially fail at. Sometimes it's the constant practice, repetition & finding a different way that works best. I tried rollerblading - paid $90 for a pair in the early 2000s. Str...

Re: Positive Trait of Dyspraxia

For me - the positive traits of Dyspraxia is I cannot solve problems or overcome obstacles the same way as other people. I have to learn different and new ways. it has helped my thought processes & problem solving to an extent. I say some things that make people raise their eyebrows at me. Cause...

Re: Bast*rd bicycles!

I couldn't ride a bike until I was ten. I could pick it up and throw it. I could stomp on it. I could curse it out. And I tried to learn to ride from age 5 onward. I was excited to ride a bike since all my younger cousins & friends were riding bikes. Everyone tried to help and that made it worse...

Re: With your dyspraxia do you prefer smaller or bigger phones?

Big phones for me. The texting is a challenge with how terrible the auto-correct is. The larger screen makes it easier to see. The other big thing for me is iPhones. I found Androids etc to be super frustrating. But that's me. Other people hate iPhones and find the Androids easier to deal with. It's...

Re: Fatigue from Dyspraxia - Common?

I am super low energy! I have learned to pace myself with physical activities (if I am stuck doing them.). I have low physical strength from Dyspraxia. Add in days when Im burning through my daily allotment of Frustration tolerance and I am wiped out. If Im sick - my energy plummets. If I slept terr...

Re: My experience

I feared learning to drive. My first accident was rear-ending the family Torino in a go cart. I learned at 18 in driver's ed (no way I could learn to drive from my parents. First step - find someone you can learn from that wont stress you out.) Also, for me I play a ton of racing video games. Especi...

Re: Help me learn how to remember

I decided to become an Accountant BEFORE I learned I have Dyspraxia. May have gone down a different mid-life career route. The memory aspect of accounting is huge. That said, Accounting is a great job path for people with Dyspraxia in regards to finding work that is very repetitive and you can maste...

Re: Eyesight and Dyspraxia

My eyesight is about the only thing I have going for me oddly enough. Everything else related to my senses is 'off.' That said I misjudge objects due to spatial awareness issues. I do misread ads & product labels. As in I would misread ads and think the deal was way better than it was. Also I'd ...

Re: What are your dyspraxia symptoms

For me the classic childhood symptoms included: unable to tie shoestrings (until the very last day of Kindergarten. Since then it's been a struggle. I miss velcro) could not ride a bike until age 10. I was the worst player on the worst baseball team in little league. Speech Had to attend speech ther...
